Frogwood 2023
The in-person, 2023 collab was held at Camp Colton in Colton, Oregon - located ~30 miles south of Portland International Airport. We had about 60 participants - an incredibly diverse and talented group! With freshly renovated accommodations, on-site chef-prepared meals, and a newly built making space, it was an event to remember!

While past collabs have been held in August, we moved the 2023 collab to May for a variety of reasons, including: increased competition for the facilities at Camp Colton as a high-quality site for special events like weddings starting in June; there is an increased risk of excessive heat, forest fires and smoke in late summer; and we respect participants’ needs to prepare for the Fall show season.
Essential Details
The following costs, dates, and other details were for the 2023 event - but we are keeping them up on our website to give those considering applying to 2025 an idea of what to expect.
o Dates: Sunday, May 21, through the following Saturday, May 27, 2023.
o Costs: $625 included catered breakfast, lunch, dinner, and refreshments, as well as use of materials, tools, and a variety of woodworking machines.
o Participation limited to those personally invited by the Frogwood Committee. The online registration link will be provided with the invitation. If you would like to be considered for 2025 or a future event let us know by submitting the inquiry form.
o Accommodations an additional cost. Several comfortable cabins and beautiful camp sites are available at Camp Colton. For those who stay in one of the cabins, bedding, pillows and towels are provided. Participants are encouraged to stay on-site to allow easy participation in the evening activities including music, slide-shows of participants’ work, and videos of past collabs. But, if preferred, there are also a few motels located about 10 minutes from the camp. More details will be provided upon registration.
o Deposit: A 50% deposit for participation fee, plus 50% of any on-site accommodations was required by November 1, 2022 in order to hold a slot at Frogwood 2023. The balance was due in full by April 21, 2023. Participation was on a first-come basis.
o We held both a live auction at Camp Colton and then an online auction featuring all artwork created during the collab. We raised over $23,000 for art scholarships, grants and to help make future Frogwood events possible.
